Taco Tuesday and Dream Talking

Taken in Costa Rica a few years ago.

In between photo shoots today, Sean and I had a little time to kill. Scrolling through Facebook on my phone, I see Jeremy’s post (Jeremy is one third, of ‘In for a Penny’, Sean’s rowdy Irish band) he was announcing that it is Taco Tuesday at Blowin’ Smoke, a funky little restaurant in downtown Savannah.  That just happens to be located right around the corner from where Sean’s elopement shoot was taking place. So we stopped in for a couple pretty darn good two dollar chorizo tacos.

This was our first time at Blowin’ Smoke. Sean would have been perfectly happy sitting outside in the 90+ degree heat. But I told the hostess, there would be none of that, as she seated us in the cool air conditioned dining room adjacent to the bar.

After ordering our tacos we both had work that we continued to take care of on our phones. I’m not a big fan of sitting in a restaurant and being on cell phones, but it was a work day and we were both still working. We just had the advantage of making a little lunch date in the middle of it. After he booked another wedding and I sent an invoice and email to a client, we continued the date portion of our lunch date.

We both began to admire the construction of the restaurant. Cinder block on the back side and then three glass paneled garage doors for the other three sides of the room we were in.

We started dream talking about how cool it would be to build a house like it. Positioned perfectly on a mountain ridge over looking the ocean in Costa Rica. It would not be complicated. One big open room with a small kitchen in the corner and little bathroom containing only the essentials. Furniture that would convert for sleeping at night and sitting in the day. An area for working on minimal laptops would also convert to a dining area. Pure simplicity, surrounded by nature.

After finishing up our tacos, it was time to pay our bill and drive to the next place of business. But I know the dream seeds were planted of something we will seek to water and nurture in our future.

Do you have a crazy dream of doing or building something? Invest a few dollars over lunch with someone you love and let your dream grow a little. Don’t be afraid to let your imagination go. It’s good for you, and you just might inspire the one you’re with too.
